CampusVue® Portal: Configuration for Students, Faculty and Staff (SESSION A ONLY)

This CampusVue® Portal configuration workshop will instruct participants how to leverage the portal security by persona, enable and configure portal transactions, and gain an understanding of the CampusVue® Student dependencies.  This course will not only expose participants to Portal features and functionality, but will engage learners in discussions associated to their online strategies and end user experiences for their institutions.  Participants will focus on managing key components within the configuration tool as well as the basics of portal troubleshooting.

NOTE:  Participants will have the ability to view the Portal features enabled and configured during the session within the Campus Management and/or Microsoft SharePoint platforms.  However, this session will not specifically encompass any SharePoint development.

CampusVue® Student: Getting Started with Custom Reporting Using Crystal Reports

This hands-on course is designed for the beginner report writer. Participants will be provided with an introduction to the Crystal Reports writing tool within CampusVue Student. Upon completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of how CampusVue Student, Microsoft SQL Server, and Crystal Reports interact and integrate to generate the data on which users wish to report.

Basic Crystal Report development techniques and an introduction to the CampusVue Student reporting engine
How to set up reports through CampusVue Student
The CampusVue Student database using data dictionary and DbTree to help find tables and fields
Basic SQL concepts

The basics of Crystal Reports, ranging from formatting a report to database integration
How to edit existing reports and create new reports. How to edit existing views and create new views, which includes how to manually script views including cosmetic changes on the report

CampusVue® Student: Navigating the CampusVue Student Database (2-day)

This course provides participants with an overall understanding of the data dictionary and how to navigate the CampusVue Student database. Participants will learn relationships between the tables that make up the CampusVue Student database and will be able to locate relevant data. This augments participants' knowledge for custom integrations, scripting, report development, and issue research.

Receive an overview of the CampusVue Student system architecture
Review the most commonly used tables in CampusVue Student including, Admissions, Academics, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Career Services, Housing, and Student Services
Learn techniques and methods for locating specific data elements

Microsoft SQL developers who are responsible for developing custom reports, integrations, or those individuals who are responsible for maintaining and supporting CampusVue Student data.

CampusVue® Portal: Effective Administration Workshop (SESSION B ONLY)

This CampusVue® Portal effective administration workshop is an extension of Portal Session A.  It will focus on engaging participants with tools associated to administrative functions and enhance the earlier lessons concentrated on feature transactions available by persona.  This course exposes participants to Portal features aimed at enhanced personalization, enterprise application integration (EAI), and streamlined user management and application extensibility. 

NOTE:  This course will be focused on the administrative console and configuration tool shared by the Campus Management and Microsoft SharePoint Portal platforms, as well as demonstrate high level branding and homepage options.  However, this session will not encompass any SharePoint development.

While Campus Management will make every effort to deliver the courses listed in the above conference schedule, it reserves the right to cancel a course in the event of insufficient enrollments and/or unavailability of an instructor due to travel conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Enrolled participants will receive notice of cancellation at the earliest possible time via email or voicemail. Participants may enroll in another course as a substitute, or apply the prepaid course fees to a future training course or Learning Center offering, redeemable within the 2012 calendar year. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made in writing (fax, letter or email) by March 19th, 2012 will be refunded less a 15% administrative fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after March 19th, 2012.
